Nvidia and Google have expressed concerns about Microsoft’s proposed buyout of Activision Blizzard. They claim that Microsoft’s acquisition would claim an unfair advantage specifically in the areas of mobile gaming, subscriptions, and the cloud.
Xbox insiders now have access to multiple new options to make their console more carbon aware. The existing energy-saving power option has been updated to reduce its power consumption even further while still supporting updates, and your console will now optimize those updates by doing them when the console can use the most renewable energy in your local energy grid. Neat.
Ubisoft has revealed it has canceled three unannounced games, as well as delayed Skull and Bones in its latest financial update. Contributing factors include a challenging environment with 2022 releases such as Just Dance 2023 and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope performing lower than expected.
Xbox and Bethesda will present their DeveloperDirect Livestream on Jan 25th with an inside look at some of the games coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass over the next few months. Presented by the game creators themselves we will see information on The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall.
